About the client

Brampton College is the top-ranked Sixth Form college in London, offering a wide range of A-Level and GCSE courses designed to support students in achieving outstanding academic results.

The challenge

The college was using an off-the-shelf facility management system that was both poorly suited to their needs and nearing end of life. They required a bespoke solution capable of:

• Supporting staff across all departments — from admissions through to registration and reporting.
• Managing timetables, registers, exam results and performance reporting.
• Handling day-to-day administrative requirements in a streamlined way.
• Migrating data from the existing legacy system without disruption.
• Providing flexibility for future upgrades and enhancements as the college’s requirements evolve

The solution

Hero worked closely with Brampton College to design and deliver a tailored management system, split into three integrated components:

• Web portal : Provides staff with access to timetables, registers, exam results and reporting tools.
• Desktop application: Supports day-to-day administration tasks, giving staff an efficient platform for their routine work.
• Direct database connection: Allows management to generate ad-hoc reports for deeper insights.

As part of the project, Hero also managed a full data migration from the legacy facility management system to the new platform, ensuring continuity of operations.

Since the initial rollout, Hero has continued to enhance the system with additional features, including:

• A door access control system restricting entry based on date, time and card user.
• System-wide updates to accommodate GCSE grading changes from letters to numbers.
