The Dyslexia Show is the UK’s leading national event dedicated to dyslexia and neurodiversity. The annual show brings together families, educators, employers and individuals, offering seminars workshops and exhibitions tailored to different audiences.

The challenge

Dyslexia Show needed a comprehensive event management system to streamline registration and seminar bookings, manage exhibitors and provide a smooth experience for multiple user groups: families/carers, education professionals, workplace representatives and individuals.

The system needed to:

• Deliver a flexible registration process that could handle multiple attendees under a single administrator.
• Provide seamless seminar booking, including free and paid events.
• Give exhibitors tools to share information, connect with visitors and manage their presence.
• Enable administrators to monitor registrations, edit bookings, manage seminars and support exhibitors.

The solution

Hero Solutions designed and delivered a bespoke Event Management System with three main components:

• Registration & Booking: A user-friendly process guiding attendees through registration, seminar selection and additional free resources. It supports both individual registrations and administrators booking on behalf of multiple attendees.
• Exhibitor Portal: Tools for exhibitors to upload business information, share documents, invite clients and use a mobile app for scanning visitor badges at the event.
• Admin Dashboard: A secure backend for staff to monitor registration progress, manage seminars and exhibitors and edit attendee details as needed.

The impact

• Registration has been streamlined, with attendees now able to create complete event itineraries in one flow.
• Flexibility has been greatly improved, with the ability for schools and organisations to manage large groups, while still allowing individuals control of their own bookings.
• Exhibitor engagement has improved, with more tools to connect with attendees and demonstrate value.
• Admin oversight has been made much more detailed, with organisers gaining clear visibility and control over all aspects of registration and event management.
